Obsidian Palace MCP Server ("Palace", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
The short version: Palace runs entirely locally on your machine. We don't collect, transmit, or store any of your vault data. The only time we receive any information is when you purchase a commercial license.
Data We Don't Collect
Palace is a local-first application. We do not collect:
- Your Obsidian vault contents
- Your notes, documents, or files
- Your AI conversations
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Personal information during normal usage
- IP addresses or device information
Data We Collect (Commercial Licenses Only)
If you purchase a commercial license, we collect the following information solely for license delivery and support:
- Email address - To send your license key and provide support
- Payment information - Processed by Paddle (our payment processor); we do not store credit card details
- Company name - For Commercial licenses, to identify the licensed organization
Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all payment processing, VAT/tax compliance, and stores payment information according to their own privacy policy.
We receive only: your email address, name/company name, and confirmation of successful payment. We never see or store your full credit card number.
How We Use Your Data
The limited data we collect from license purchases is used only for:
- Delivering your license key
- Providing technical support
- Sending important product updates (you can opt out)
- Processing refunds if requested
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Retention
License purchase records are retained for accounting and legal purposes (typically 7 years). You can request deletion of your email from our mailing list at any time by contacting us.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt out of marketing communications
POPIA Compliance (South Africa)

This website uses:
- GitHub Pages - For website hosting
- Cloudflare - For DNS services
- Paddle - For payment processing (when purchasing licenses)
- Google Fonts - For typography
We do not use analytics, tracking cookies, or advertising services on this website.
